Getting Organized

Dar and I are in the process of “de-cluttering”. This is really a big deal, since the two of us have opposite views on the subject of accumulating possessions and their subsequent disposal.
My dear partner is a pack-rat. She admits it. These genes run in her family, and she really got […]

Nut

One more thing for today: This guy Ahmahinejad is a Dangerous NUT!
News Item:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — The United States is incapable of inflicting “serious damage” on Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday, as a second U.S. aircraft carrier group steamed toward the Gulf as a warning from Washington for Iran to back down […]

Not Retirement

As most of you know, Dar and I are planning a big change in our life. No, not divorce. Instead, we’re going to divest ourselves of a good number of our possessions, as well as the house we own, in order to spend a few years “on the road”, living in a big ol’ RV, […]

In The Moment

A Needed Surge

Last night, Bush outlined his administration’s proposal for “moving forward” in Iraq. It was, as is often the case with government announcements these days, the worst kept secret in town. The key points of the speech were “out” and being discussed in the press days prior — so all that was left to […]

A Hell of a Mess

Jeesh! How did we get here? The subject of this post is the Iraq mess in which the USA is mired. How did this happen?
The Islamic terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001 put the country into a mood to retaliate… “somebody’s got to pay for what they did to us”. Chasing a band […]

Gap in Blog

Writing can be tough. Over the past few months, I froze up… concerned that what I write will be flawed, inconsistent, or just pedestrian. It’s that perfection thing: can’t produce anything unless it’s perfect. Well, one of my personal improvement projects (pip’s) for this year is to write something everyday; […]
