My eyes are closed
and I’m there.
Sitting, reclining on
the big brown couch.
Little Ryan in the next
room, sleeping. My
dearest friend at my side.
With eyes still closed I’m
walking the dogs, carefully
stepping between spots of
ice that keep me tense
yet surely enjoying nature,
enjoying being alive, savoring
the richness of experience.
